"Sex and the City 2"
Composer Aaron Zigman reunites with Sex and the City Team for the Sequel
(Los Angeles, CA) Award-winning composer Aaron Zigman reunites with Michael Patrick King to score the sequel “Sex and the City 2.” The film stars the original cast from the beloved TV series including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Chris Noth and John Corbett. “Sex and the City 2” opens in theaters on May 27. WaterTower Music will be releasing the soundtrack, including “Divas and Dunes” by Zigman. Zigman who received critical acclaim for his work on the romantic New Line film, “The Notebook,” was an obvious choice to set the tone for the romantic rendezvous of the “Sex and the City” cast on the big screen.
For “Sex and the City 2,” Zigman delivers a score that ranges from contemporary orchestral to romantic classical, as well as Middle Eastern motifs with haunting, lilting rhythms to convey the geographical diversity represented in the film.
Zigman’s talent has made him one of the top ranking film composers in Hollywood. Additionally, he has built a solid musical reputation as a leading songwriter, producer, arranger and musician. Zigman has successfully traversed from pop to classical to film music. His credits include producing and arranging for music icons including Natalie Cole, Tina Turner, Seal, John Legend and Christina Aguilera. Zigman has the ability to create memorable scores in variety of genres including: his romantic score for “The Notebook,” his urban edgy sound for “Alpha Dog,” and his comedy inspired score for “The Proposal.” Zigman continues to deliver the perfect score to set the tone to these diverse films.
Some of Zigman’s recent projects include, “The Last Song,” “My Sister’s Keeper,” “The Ugly Truth” and “The Proposal.” “Steve’s Song” from the “The Last Song” debuted as number one on the Billboard charts. Aaron Zigman has received accolades for his work including an Emmy and Film Music Awards and a Black Reel Nomination.
